History Oxbow Motel was built in 1953 by Raymond Rogers, whose family still lives in the area. Oxbow Lake is well stocked with bass. In 1985 a 7.5 lb. small-mouth bass was caught here setting a state record.A short distance from our motel are Piseco Lake (lake trout), Lake Pleasant (walleye and bass), and Sacandaga Lake (walleye and bass), and the Northville to Lake Placid State Trail, which offers 70 miles of hiking and camping. All this in a world famous Adirondack State Park. Largest park east of the Mississippi – 6.6 million acres of pristine beauty. Before the Motel:
